I was trying to find a parking spot with my friend Rachel in Brooklyn, of all places. Needless to say, it was not easy. We finally drove by a spot that she SWORE was plenty big for the Chevrolet Malibu I had rented for the weekend. After my second failed attempt, she looked over at me in frustration and said "Let me do it."
Stubborn, and not willing to let myself get emasculated, I responded "No, I got this!" I pulled in using my signature 20 point turn and, with the help of some passerby's, squeezed the thing in with ease. I got out of the car, glowing with pride from my parking job with just inches of clearance. I looked over at Rachel, expecting some sort of positive reaction. She simply shrugged her shoulders, and walked away. Moral of the story: Stay in your hometown. It's the only place you'll be truly appreciated for your abilities. |
